About Format Health

Built by clinicians.
Designed for critical moments.

We set out to solve one of medicine's most persistent problems — the chaos and documentation failure that happens during in-hospital cardiac arrest. RevitalPro is the result.

2016

Seattle, WA
Harborview Medical Center

Format Health grew out of a close collaboration with the University of Washington, drawing on the UW School of Medicine, UW Medical Center, and Harborview Medical Center's deep clinical expertise. Seattle/King County — the birthplace of the Medic One program and a global leader in cardiac arrest outcomes — was the ideal home for our work.

Founded in 2016 by Brian K. Ross, MD, PhD (now professor emeritus of Anesthesiology at UW), we set out to replace error-prone paper charting during "Code Blue" events with a purpose-built digital tool. Dr. Ross brought decades of experience in medical simulation and device innovation, including founding one of the nation's early simulation centers and chairing UW's Code Blue Committee.

RevitalPro is a tablet-based system that replaces manual code documentation with fast, guided, bedside capture — created with input from physicians, nurses, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, risk management, and quality leaders.

Data integrity

100% retention of every intervention, medication, and timestamp — no gaps, no manual transcription.

Team coordination

Shared situational awareness — every team member sees the same real-time view of ordered vs. completed tasks.

Patient outcomes

Designed by providers, for providers — improving the quality of care in one of healthcare's most demanding environments.

Founded in collaboration with UW Medicine

Our work is rooted in the University of Washington School of Medicine, UW Medical Center, and Harborview Medical Center — institutions at the forefront of cardiac arrest research and outcomes. Seattle/King County's Medic One program set the global standard for emergency cardiac care, and RevitalPro carries that legacy into the hospital.

Leadership

The team behind RevitalPro

Decades of combined experience in clinical medicine, medical devices, healthcare technology, and R&D — united by a single mission.
